S. Mordan & Co. is the name associated with the great historic body of Mordan work produced across the Victorian, Edwardian and later periods.

Over generations, the name appeared on an extraordinary variety of beautifully made pieces — from silver writing instruments, seals and personal accessories to jewellery, dressing-table pieces, gentleman’s objects and ingenious designs for private life.

The S. Mordan & Co. collection within The Vault brings together surviving historic pieces selected for their beauty, interest, craftsmanship and connection to the Mordan story.

Individual listings record the evidence found on each piece wherever possible, including maker’s marks, engravings, assay marks and dates. Later pieces from the historic company period are also grouped under S. Mordan & Co., keeping the collection clear and easy to explore while preserving more detailed attribution within each individual entry.
